Lumbini

Bodhgaya

Bodhgaya in Gaya, Bihar is the place of Buddha’s enlightenment. This is a sacred Buddhist site in Bihar state and Buddha here mediated under the Bodhi tree for long period. This place holds great significance for pilgrims and this place is also renowned for the Vishupad temple for the footprints of Lord Vishnu. Sarnath

Sarnath is the holy site in Varanasi of Uttar Pradesh and after attained enlightenment Buddha went to Sarnath. In the Deer park of Sarnath Buddha gave his first sermon. The emperor Ashoka visited Sarnath and spread Buddha’s message of love. There is a Buddhist monastery in Sarnath that was built in 1931 and besides, this you can see many temples houses of Lord Buddha that depict the life of Buddha.



Kushinagar

Kushinagar is situated in Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh where Buddha passed way or breathed last. He was cremated at the Ramabhar stupa of Kushinagar. You can visit one of the most pious temples of Kushinagar that is a Mahapairinirvana temple where you can see the stature that represents the dying Buddha lie down on his right side.
